LASER

A laser is a device that emits a uniform beam of light through an optical magnification method. There are many types of lasers, such as gas laser, fiber laser, solid state laser, dye laser, diode laser and excimer laser. All of these laser types share a basic set of parts.

Lasers are important elements of products we use every day. Products such as Blu-Ray and DVD players rely on laser technology to read data on discs. Barcode scanners use lasers to process information. Lasers are also applied in various medical procedures such as LASIK eye surgery. In production, lasers are used to cut, engrave, drill and mark a variety of materials.
