NEMA 23 step motor
Encoder integration enables special functions that would otherwise be unavailable. Stall detection notifies the system when the required torque is too high for the motor, resulting in a loss of synchronization between the rotor and stator, also known as stalling.
Stall prevention prevents stepper motor stalling by dynamically adjusting the motor speed to maintain rotor-stator synchronization under all conditions.
This unique feature allows stepper motors to operate in a much wider range of applications than previously available, such as torque control applications. The stall prevention feature also performs static position holding, which maintains the motor shaft position at rest.
Features of NEMA 23 step motor:
- FULL-CIRCLE REGULATION: - Stepper motor control circuitry, eliminating loss of motion synchronization. The motor runs smoothly, vibrates quietly, and improves dynamic performance during acceleration and deceleration.
- PROTECTION FUNCTION: - Stepper motor driver supports overcurrent and overvoltage protection. Insulation class B.
- MAIN PARAMETERS: - The motor has a torque of 12 Nm and a continuous current of 6 A. Shaft length: 3.8 cm (1.5"), shaft width: 1.5 cm (0.59"). DC resistance (± 10%): 0.8 Ω, phase inductance (± 20%): 6 mH, insulation resistance: 100 mOhm (500 VDC).
- HIGH-SPEED RESPONSE: - Adopts new control technology and vector control technology to prevent irregularities and ensure product accuracy. Specifically designed for short-distance, short-term, quick start-stop, and zero-speed stable stop applications.
- WIDE APPLICATIONS: - Robust material frame for long service life with CNC table routers, small CNC routers, laser cutters/engravers, dental mills, electronic assembly and inspection equipment, labeling equipment, etc.
Each STM23 integrated stepper motor includes 3 digital inputs, 1 digital output, and 1 analog input. The digital inputs accept 5-24 VDC signals and allow connection to pulse and direction signals, limit switches, jog switches, quadrature encoder signals, PLC outputs, sensors, and many other types of signals.
The digital output can be connected to PLC inputs, counters, lights, relays, or other devices. The analog input accepts 0-5 VDC signals and allows speed and position control. The STM23 includes an RS-232 port for programming and a CANopen port for network communications.
Nema 23 high torque stepper motors provide great value with no quality sacrifice. The version with a step angle of 0.9° is more precise than the typical 1.8° version of the motor. These motors are engineered to provide the highest possible torque but minimize vibration and audible noise.
